This week’s new story is non-fiction for a change. A love letter to my New York Knicks and their long suffering fans. Including the author. Especially the author.
I love this story. And not only because I lived it as well. I was a huge Pearl fan. The read brought back all of the memories of the Knicks games. Pre cable, only could watch away games on CH 9. Phil Jackson coming in to disturb the inbounds pass and the Jerry Lucas Layup. From 30 ft out. Before the 3 pointer.
Beautifully written, Scott! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a playoff run quite like this one. That OG tip-in (not to mention the comeback) has to be one of the greatest moments in NY sports history.
Ah, the sports writer steps out of the shadows and slings around nicknames and sports trivia like a pro. I loved this, Scott. I was never hooked on pro basketball. You are a true fanatic.
I obviously don't need to point out that Phil Jackson went on to dominate the league coaching the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, and Bradley went into politics.

Thanks Coop it’s a long time coming. Thanks as always for the support.
Another great story Scott, you have the memory of an elephant, you were a loyal fan,
Thank you Gary!
I enjoyed this—and I don't even like basketball!
Thank you Stephanie, and thanks for reading!
Nice, Scott! I’m just grateful that the final game was not graced by the jinx-in chief. Some things are still right with this world!
😎
Congratulations Scott. That’s how you win a championship 👏👍🏼
Thanks, Dan, feels good.
