I love this story. And not only because I lived it as well. I was a huge Pearl fan. The read brought back all of the memories of the Knicks games. Pre cable, only could watch away games on CH 9. Phil Jackson coming in to disturb the inbounds pass and the Jerry Lucas Layup. From 30 ft out. Before the 3 pointer.

Nice, Scott! I’m just grateful that the final game was not graced by the jinx-in chief. Some things are still right with this world!

Beautifully written, Scott! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a playoff run quite like this one. That OG tip-in (not to mention the comeback) has to be one of the greatest moments in NY sports history.

Thanks, Justin, it was worth the wait!

Ah, the sports writer steps out of the shadows and slings around nicknames and sports trivia like a pro. I loved this, Scott. I was never hooked on pro basketball. You are a true fanatic.

What I know about basketball is -- nothing. But I know a fine writer when I read one. 👍🏻

I obviously don't need to point out that Phil Jackson went on to dominate the league coaching the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, and Bradley went into politics.
